Bremer Modellbau Club >> The Club
The Club
An important aspect with our hobby is the exchange of ideas and suggestions. The Bremen model construction club offers here a very good possibility to improve own model construction abilities and to perfect, however, to allow also an entrance in the plastic model construction. The Bremen model construction club (BMC) is a community of interests of plastic model builders of all sections and epochs. Above all airplanes, cars, military vehicles, figures and Science Fiction - subjects are built. The BMC exists since 1976 and had his first club meetings in the rooms of Bremen-Neustadt THW. Later the workshop was one of our members many years' meeting place and today all enthusiasts meet always on the 1st Tuesday of the month in the “Hotel Zum Werdersee”' now back in Bremen to exchange themselves, to present models, to receive new ideas and suggestions or just to chat. At the moment we more then 30 members from Bremen and area around Bremen and are glad about every new face. The membership in the BMC is free! Journeys are also organized by the Bremen model construction club to exhibits of friendly model construction clubs. At the same time we carry out traveling to England, Belgium, Holland and in other lands to marvel at there at models, however, also originals. However, still our own model construction-exhibits which we carry out of all 2-4 years belong to the highlights of our club work. These exhibits were in the eighties with up to 15,000 visitors biggest here in the North German space and after a rather moderate interest in the nineties, however, our visitor's figures are again on the way upwards, we reached in 2002 a visitor's number from 2,500, in 2006 these were 6,000 and at the last exhibition in 2008 4,500 enthusiasts again. Therefore the " Modell Fan Show " again to the biggest events in the north of Germany in the matter of plastic model construction.
